Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker(s) to join the team, located throughout Melbourne.
- 11-year-old twin male participants.
- North Melbourne location.
- Spinal muscular atrophy type 2 diagnosis.
- Monday 7:00 am – 9:00 am, Monday, Thursday, Friday and occasional Wednesday 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm, Saturday inactive overnight (time to be confirmed, usually late start). Requirement to be able to cover all (if not, majority) of shifts.
- Requires support with: Requires support with school pick-up, afternoon snacks, showering and dressing, exercises, homework assistance.
- Manual handling and hoisting experience advantageous.
- Personality that can connect and enjoys working with kids mandatory. Open to male or female support workers.

We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Worker who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients. . Seeking someone that can provide structure and guidance to achieve goals and build capacity. Someone that is responsible, trustworthy, hardworking and genuinely supportive to stay actively engaged with the participant.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.

Pay: $41.50 – $72.00 per hour
