At i-Help Disability Services, we embrace diversity and inclusion and are looking for Disability Support Workers who demonstrate integrity, empathy, patience and compassion.
We are currently seeking experienced Support Workers to support a participant living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in the Northern Brisbane / Moreton Bay Region.
The participant is non-verbal and requires workers who are patient, observant and confident in understanding and responding to individual communication cues, routines and support needs.
Support will include:
- Personal care and activities of daily living
- Manual handling
- Mealtime support
- Medication assistance
- Supporting communication, choice and independence
- Domestic assistance
- Community access and appointments
- Following individual support plans, routines and clinical guidance
The successful applicants will be comfortable providing consistent, person-centred support and building familiarity with the participant's individual communication style and preferences.
Shifts operate across a 24/7 rotating roster, Monday to Sunday, including active shifts and sleepover shifts.
If you are currently studying a relevant health or community services qualification, including Mental Health or a Diploma/Bachelor of Nursing, we would also love to hear from you.

Essential Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care, Diploma of Mental Health, Nursing studies, or relevant disability/community services experience
- Experience supporting people with complex or high support needs
- Experience supporting non-verbal participants or people with communication support needs
- Manual handling experience and relevant training
- Experience with enteral feeding/PEG feeding where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Ability to provide medication assistance in accordance with training and support plans
- Ability to work independently and follow established support plans and procedures
- Good observation, communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and participant-specific training before commencing shifts
Highly Regarded
Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Supporting people with complex disability
- Supporting non-verbal participants
- Understanding alternative or individual communication methods
- Mealtime management and dysphagia-related support
- Manual handling and mobility support
- Medication assistance
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Supporting participants with behaviours of concern
Above all, we are looking for workers who are calm, patient, reliable and genuinely interested in getting to know the person they support.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
