We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and act as a trusted advisor across a broad range of commercial, regulatory and project matters.
This is a senior, hands-on role offering meaningful exposure across Altogether’s energy and water businesses, major infrastructure projects, commercial transactions and strategic initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing clear, commercially focused legal advice that enables confident decision-making and supports the delivery of critical infrastructure.
- Provide expert legal advice across a broad range of commercial transactions, disputes and compliance matters, with a primary focus on Altogether’s energy business.
- Advise on project transactions, disputes, regulatory obligations and compliance matters relating to Altogether’s water operations and infrastructure projects.
- Act as a senior legal advisor across the business, supporting strategic decision-making and managing legal risk.
- Provide legal support to key corporate functions including People & Culture, ESG, Finance and IT.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external legal providers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of legal services.
- Lead the development, review and standardisation of legal templates, contracts and agreements.
- Provide guidance and practical legal training to internal stakeholders as required.
- Ensure compliance with Altogether policies and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification in Law (LLB, JD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
- Current Practising Certificate.
- Minimum 8+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained in a top-tier law firm and/or senior in-house legal role.
- Strong expertise in one or more of the following areas:Contract lawEnergy retail lawConstruction law
- Experience in property law will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Proven ability to negotiate, draft and review complex commercial contracts.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to provide clear, practical and solutions-focused legal advice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at senior levels.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively in a collaborative environment.
