About us:
Rural and Remote Services within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) deliver comprehensive, high-quality healthcare across a diverse geographic area, including regional, rural and very remote communities. These services focus on providing safe, accessible and culturally appropriate care across the continuum, often within complex clinical environments and with limited local resources. The service works closely with communities and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, improve health outcomes, and address the unique challenges faced by rural and remote populations
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
About your opportunity:
In this role you will....
Display a high level of interpersonal skills in communication, consultation and negotiation within the multidisciplinary management team and across the Health Service.
Implement and maintain appropriate management information and reporting systems to ensure that timely, accurate and accountable reports are available for monthly reporting and other decision making.
Develop the Rural and Remote Services revenue and expenditure budget (approx. $245M) and allocate resources in line with service plans and nursing Business Planning Framework (BPF) in consultation with the Cost Centre Managers and Directors of Nursing/ Facility Managers.
Incorporate contemporary human resource management principles into practice including Equal Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination and zero tolerance to bullying and harassment in the workplace.
Actively monitor and analyse management and financial information, activities and outcomes against performance objectives, benchmarks and the strategic and operational plan. This includes the submission of reports and the provision of recommendations when performance variations occur in areas such as financial and patient activity, clinical indicators, key performance indicators, quality activities and health outcomes.
