About the Position
Il Baretto is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to restaurant standards, maintaining food quality and consistency, and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to restaurant standards.
· Manage food preparation and kitchen operations during busy service periods.
· Maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
· Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering kitchen supplies.
· Minimise food wastage and maintain efficient kitchen practices.
· Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
· Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.
· Assist with menu development and refreshes.
· Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
· Support the overall performance and smooth operation of the kitchen.
Skills and Experience
· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
· Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in a commercial kitchen.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Good knowledge and understanding of food safety and WHS requirements.
· Ability to maintain high standards of food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
Salary and Employment Conditions
The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis for 38 hours per week, with a salary of $80,000–$82,000 per annum plus superannuation.
