Territory Kids Early Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and experienced Child Care Worker to join our team in Gunn, Northern Territory.
The successful candidate will support the learning, development, safety, and wellbeing of children by providing high-quality care and assisting with engaging educational and recreational programs. We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can learn and grow.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing educational materials, toys, equipment, and resources for children's learning and recreational activities.
- Plan, organise, and participate in stimulating activities appropriate to children's ages, interests, and developmental needs.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Engage children through reading, storytelling, games, creative activities, music, and interactive play.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, rest periods, toileting, hygiene, and other personal care needs.
- Promote good hygiene, healthy habits, independence, and positive social interaction.
- Observe children's behaviour, development, and participation and communicate relevant information to educators and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organised, and welcoming environment for children.
- Work collaboratively with educators, staff, parents, and families to support positive outcomes for children.
- Follow centre policies, procedures, child-safety requirements, workplace health and safety standards, and applicable childcare regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant should have:
- AQF Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher qualification, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, responsible, and professional approach when working with children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of children's safety, wellbeing, hygiene, and developmental needs.
- Ability to meet applicable regulatory and employment requirements for working in an early childhood education and care environment.
Salary and Benefits
Annual Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 + Superannuation
A competitive salary package will be offered based on the successful applicant's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
