About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Customer Solutions team in Wetherill Park. This is a unique opportunity for an engineering professional with a strong compliance background to lead technical governance, product certification and testing programs across a diverse portfolio of building products and systems.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Building Systems Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring CSR products, systems and technical documentation comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian and New Zealand Standards, and industry regulatory requirements.
Leading a team of two Technical Compliance specialists, you will play a critical role in maintaining product compliance, overseeing testing and certification activities, managing NATA-accredited testing capabilities, and providing expert guidance across product development, quality, operations, sales and marketing teams.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to influence product strategy, innovation and compliance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Product Compliance & Certification - Ensure CSR products and systems comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian/New Zealand Standards, and relevant industry regulations through effective testing, assessment, and certification programs.
- Manage Technical Testing & NATA Requirements - Oversee internal and external product testing activities, maintain NATA-accredited testing equipment and certification, and ensure compliance evidence remains current and robust.
- Own Technical Documentation & Governance - Lead the development, maintenance, and control of technical documentation including manuals, test reports, certificates, design tables, and compliance records.
- Drive Quality & Compliance Assurance - Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to maintain ongoing product compliance, ensuring factory processes and product performance align with regulatory and certification requirements.
- Lead and Develop the Compliance Team - Manage, coach, and support the Technical Compliance team, ensuring projects, priorities, and business objectives are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Provide Technical Leadership Across the Business - Act as the subject matter expert on NCC, standards, and codes, supporting new product development, reviewing technical marketing claims, and influencing stakeholders across engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and external industry bodies.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Mechanical, Structural, Chemical Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in technical compliance, engineering, certification or regulatory environments.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian/New Zealand Standards.
- Experience managing product testing, certification programs and evidence of suitability requirements.
- Experience working with NATA-accredited laboratories, testing facilities or certification processes.
- Previous experience within the construction, building products, manufacturing or related industries.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing technical teams and complex projects.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving capabilities.
