Are you ready to join the team at Australia’s newest Kenworth and DAF truck dealership? Welcome to Melbourne North Truck Centre, the latest addition to the extremely successful Hallam and Bayswater Truck Centres. As a full-service Kenworth and DAF Truck dealership, we offer new truck sales, parts, and mechanical servicing, proudly serving the North of Melbourne, including Ballarat territories. Currently operating from our interim location on Hume Highway in Somerton, we are eagerly anticipating the completion of our state-of-the-art dealership in 2028 in Mickleham, which is set to revolutionise the truck sales and service customer experience in Melbourne.
The role
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for a motivated Service Workshop Manager/Supervisor to lead, support and manage the daily operations within our busy Service Workshop.
This role plays a key part in driving the performance and efficiency of the workshop team while ensuring high-quality service outcomes, safety standards, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a focus on continuous improvement, and a commitment to maintaining manufacturer standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily workshop operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are met
- Support and lead workshop staff, ensuring they have the tools, training, and direction needed to perform at their best
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and within agreed timeframes
- Oversee apprentice and technician training, development, and performance reviews
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Monitor and manage workshop performance, productivity, and workflow
- Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring all customer concerns are addressed promptly and effectively
- Collaborate closely with the Service Manager to achieve key performance objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records and reporting
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a workshop leadership or supervisory role within the automotive or heavy vehicle industry
- Strong technical knowledge of service and repair processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels
- A hands-on leader with a commitment to safety, teamwork, and service excellence
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Sound computer literacy and familiarity with service management systems
- Relevant trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic or similar) essential
