About the role
NetStrategy works exclusively in K–12 education. We have supported over 400 schools across Australia for more than 40 years. ICT is not a sideline for us — it is the business. The people we hire are responsible for the technology that keeps schools running.
This ICT Support role sits at the centre of that work. You will be based on-site at a leading independent school, embedded in the day-to-day technology operations of the school. You will work alongside experienced engineers and service delivery professionals, contributing to real infrastructure across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user environments.
This is an entry-to-junior role. We hire on aptitude and attitude as much as experience. If you are early in your career and serious about growing into a systems and infrastructure specialist, this is a structured path to do that.
What you'll be doing
-
Providing day-to-day ICT support across end-user computing, connectivity, and core infrastructure
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues — working through problems methodically and escalating when needed
- Contributing to infrastructure projects alongside senior engineers
- Work within a team to support broad and varied systems from leading vendors.
- Maintaining clear, timely communication with school staff and stakeholders when issues arise
- Keeping technical documentation accurate and up to date
Who we’re looking for
-
You may be finishing a degree or certification, or you may have one to three years of hands-on experience. What matters more than credentials is how you approach the work.
- You work through problems logically and know when to ask for help
- You communicate clearly with people who aren’t technical — and you don’t make them feel like they should be
- You follow through. If you say you’ll do something, you do it
- You’re curious about technology and take it on yourself to stay current
- You take the work seriously but don’t need to be chased to do it well
Skills and Experience
Essential:
-
Foundational knowledge of networking, server environments, and end-user computing
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based infrastructure
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues methodically
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Full Australian work rights
Advantageous:
-
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or Azure environments
- Familiarity with ITSM tools or ticketing systems (ConnectWise is a plus)
- Exposure to Extreme Networks, HPE Aruba, Juniper MIST, or similar switching/Wi-Fi platforms
- Experience with backup technologies (Veeam, Barracuda)
- MacOS and JAMF experience
- CCNA, JNCP, ACMP or equivalent certification
- Any prior experience in or with a school environment
Why NetStrategy?
We work in one sector. That means the context you build here is deep rather than scattered. You will understand schools — their operations, their rhythms, their risk profile — in a way that generalist IT providers never do.
NetStrategy invests in the development of its technical staff. This role has a clear path forward, and we support people who want to move along it.
