About the role
We are seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Literacy students!
We currently have a Temporary Full Time teaching opportunity available at our TAFE NSW St Leonards/Hornsby Campus. The role is Temp until Dec 2026 with the possibility of an extension.
You will help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. In addition, you will facilitate learning by delivering world-class educational programs, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. In your next role, you will:
- Teach students face-to-face in classrooms and online
- Issue, mark and provide comprehensive feedback on assessments
- Undertake student administration, including marking registers and recording results
- Maintain relationships with local industry professionals and employers
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications in the discipline and a commitment to maintain technical currency. (Note: this may include particular levels of experience and or vocational qualifications).
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
- One of the qualifications below:
- TAE 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor, OR
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus the following units:
- Adult language, literacy and numeracy skills - TAELLN401A or TAELLN411 (or its successor), AND
- Design and develop assessment tools - TAEASS502A, TAEASS502B, or TAEASS502 (or its successor) OR
- a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
- A Qualification in Literacy:
- A recognised* Bachelor degree (AQF 7) in education, with a Literacy focus OR
- A recognised* postgraduate qualification (AQF 8 or higher) in Literacy OR
- A Qualification at AQF5 (or above) and relevant experience in a Literacy area
Note: successful applicants coming in under #3 must complete Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching (ALaNT) + TAELLN skillset (TAESS00026 or predecessor) within 18 months of engagement*. (*ALaNT expected to be available from T2, 2024.)
