Pets Unleashed is searching for a Junior Retail Assistant to join our team after school, on weekends, and during school holidays.
If you love pets, enjoy helping people, and are keen to learn, this could be the perfect opportunity to gain valuable retail experience while working in a fun and supportive environment.
No previous experience is required – we'll provide on-the-job training. What we're really looking for is someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to work, and a genuine love of animals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting customers and providing friendly service
- Learning about pet care, nutrition, and products
- Replenishing stock and keeping shelves tidy
- Helping maintain store presentation
- Cleaning animal habitats, tanks, and store areas
- Assisting with receiving stock deliveries
- Supporting senior team members with daily tasks
- Learning retail sales and customer service skills

The Reality of the Role
Working in a pet store is rewarding, but it's not all cuddling puppies and kittens.
This role involves:
- Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures
- Carrying stock and assisting with deliveries
- Being on your feet for long periods
- Learning and following store procedures
- Completing tasks thoroughly, even when they're not the most exciting jobs
