About the Role
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled, empathetic, and physically fit Female Support Worker to provide high-quality, complex personal care for a lady living in Stanhope Gardens.
This role requires a high level of competency in hoisting and specialised bowel care. Because these daily routines are lengthy and meticulous, we need a carer who prioritises client dignity, comfort, and safety above all else.
Bonus Travel Opportunity: The client is travelling to Queensland in early November for two weeks. You must be willing and able to travel with her as her support worker. Accommodation and one daily meal will be fully covered. You will not be required all day; shifts will be split across morning, lunch, and night (approx. 6–8 hours of work per day), leaving you with free time to enjoy the trip!
Key Responsibilities
Daily Home Care (Stanhope Gardens):
Complex Personal & Bowel Care: Assisting with morning bowel care, including hoisting from bed to toilet.
Showering & Grooming: Managing the shower routine, hoisting from the shower chair to the bedroom, and assisting with dressing.
Dignity & Comfort: Ensuring the client is kept covered, warm, and comfortable at all times during care. Providing a gentle post-shower massage if required.
Evening Routine (Fridays): Meal preparation, general domestic assistance, and safely hoisting the client into bed.
Collaborative Care: Welcoming the daily visiting nurse who manages wound care and catheter care. (Note: Medications are pre-packed via Webster-pak; no administration or prompting is required).
Travel Support (QLD - Early November):
Flight Assistance: Assisting flight staff with the manual transfer of the client from her wheelchair into her airplane seat (requires excellent physical strength).
Split Roster on Holidays: Providing structured care three times a day (morning, lunch, and night) while away.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Proven, extensive experience with complex manual handling, hoist transfers (sling/ceiling/mobile), and bowel care routines.
Physical Fitness: Must be physically strong, fit, and confident in performing manual transfers (specifically required for aircraft boarding).
Travel Readiness: Must have a valid ID/documentation and absolute availability to travel interstate for two weeks in early November.
Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Nursing (highly regarded).
Compliance: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Check, and valid First Aid & CPR certificates.
Reliable transport to Stanhope Gardens for early morning shifts.
What We Offer
Stable Weekly Schedule: Set, predictable hours every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
All-Expenses-Paid Travel: Fully covered accommodation and a daily meal allowance during the 2-week Queensland trip.
