About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027
The Project Director, Victorian Transport Digital Engineering (VTDE) Transformation, leads the delivery of a major digital transformation program across the transport portfolio. The role oversees all Digital Engineering roadmap workstreams, ensuring activities are coordinated, integrated and aligned across multiple partners, stakeholders and vendors. It requires strong leadership, program management expertise and an understanding of the transport infrastructure lifecycle from planning and design through to operations and maintenance.
The position is responsible for program governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation, while driving collaboration across government and industry. The role also leads high-performing teams, manages scope and change, and supports the transition of program outcomes into sustainable operational models, ensuring long-term value and successful delivery of transformation objectives.

Demonstrates strong business and commercial acumen, driving value, improving operational efficiency and ensuring investments deliver measurable outcomes.

Uses technology, data and digital transformation expertise to lead organisational change, embed new capabilities and transition complex programs into sustainable operational delivery.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:

Demonstrable delivery experience in complex ICT environments (mandatory)

Demonstrable delivery experience in large-scale public-sector environments (mandatory)
- Ability to demonstrate the establishment of a rounded Program delivery team with a mix of technical and non-technical staff will be highly regarded (desirable)

Demonstrated experience with managing asset data services in a linear infrastructure industry (desirable)

Qualifications as relevant to the role (desirable)
