About the team
The Operations Support Officer role sits within Revenue NSW. We are the state’s principal revenue management agency and are a part of the Department of Customer Service (DCS). We manage taxes, fines, debts and administer grants in a fair, efficient and timely manner. Through this we give back to the community and fund essential State services for the people of NSW.
The Tax Debt Team is responsible for debt management across a range of business tax bases. Our staff are skilled across these taxes, and our functions include assisting customers to resolve their overdue tax debt by phone, in writing and via online services, with a focus on providing exceptional frontline customer service.
We are seeking to recruit self-motivated and experienced debt collectors with strong problem-solving skills who enjoys getting results. You will excel at negotiating with customers or their representatives and have an excellent eye for detail.
Your day-to-day

Analyse and interpret legislation and its application in a debt recovery or investigation environment

Manage competing priorities with tight deadlines

Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers including legal professionals according to service standards.

Negotiate debt settlements with customer and their representatives by utilising your strong verbal and written communication skills
- There is a requirement that staff travel periodically to Parramatta for meetings and training

Experience and knowledge in debt recovery and/or in the administration of taxes is highly desirable

This role involves handling inbound and outbound calls and operates during business hours 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, you will be required to work scheduled shifts between these hours.
