About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Pet Groomer / Dog Groomer to join our friendly and professional team.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves animals, takes pride in their grooming work, and is patient and confident when handling dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments.
A minimum of 2 years of professional pet grooming experience is required.
Applicants who also have experience in cat grooming will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional dog grooming services, including clipping, scissoring, trimming and styling.
- Perform nail trimming, paw pad trimming, sanitary trimming and ear cleaning.
- Groom dogs according to customer requests and appropriate breed styles.
- Assess coat condition and recommend suitable grooming styles and services.
- Safely and confidently handle dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments.
- Identify matting, skin irritation or other concerns and communicate them appropriately to customers.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised grooming area.
- Clean and sanitise grooming equipment and work areas after use.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding grooming requirements and desired styles.
- Work cooperatively with other groomers and grooming assistants.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional pet grooming experience.
- Confident and experienced in clipping, scissoring, trimming and styling.
- Able to complete grooming independently and maintain a high standard of work.
- Experience in grooming different dog breeds and coat types.
- Cat grooming experience is highly regarded.
- Good understanding of safe animal handling.
- Patient, responsible and gentle with animals.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in grooming quality.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to work weekends is highly regarded.
