The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Food & Beverage Attendants to join our team on a casual basis.
From theatre performances and conferences to gala dinners and special events, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring every guest enjoys a first-class experience.
About the Role
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you'll be responsible for providing professional food and beverage service across a variety of events and functions. Working as part of a dynamic team, you'll assist with event set-up and pack-down, bar service, food delivery, cash handling, and ensuring patrons always receive outstanding customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons, performers and clients.
- Set up and reset function rooms, conference spaces and theatre events.
- Provide food and beverage service, including bar and waiting duties.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across bar, kitchen and function areas.
- Accurately process cash and reconcile takings.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, kitchen staff and event teams.
- Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and liquor licensing legislation.
- Support the successful delivery of conferences, functions and entertainment events.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
- Experience working in a customer service environment.
- Strong communication and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work flexible rostered hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of liquor licensing legislation.
- Availability to work across a roster, including weekends.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a food and beverage or hospitality role.
- Experience working in a conference, function or events environment.
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or training.
