The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Tuggerah.
This newly expanded role offers genuine ownership of the accounts payable function, alongside exposure to the broader finance cycle. It would suit an early-career finance professional with practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or transactional finance who is ready to develop their financial accounting skills.
Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you’ll build experience across cashbook and banking, month-end reporting, reconciliations, fixed assets and financial analysis.

Mirait Technologies Australia is a leader in telecommunications and energy infrastructure construction and maintenance. We deliver quality outcomes for our customers and are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Tuggerah.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the accounts payable function while supporting the Finance team across the broader accounting cycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the accounts payable process from invoice entry through to payment
- Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs
- Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving queries
- Maintaining cashbook entries and assisting with bank reconciliations
- Supporting accounts receivable and month-end reporting activities
- Maintaining financial records and contributing to process improvements
About you:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
- Understanding of bookkeeping principles and general ledger coding
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Experience with MYOB Exo, a project-based business, or an interest in pursuing CA/CPA qualifications will be highly regarded
