We are seeking an experienced Midwife to provide clinical expertise in the role of Clinical Midwife Educator (CME). The CME will work with the Macquarie University employed academic coordinator of MD students, to deliver the experiential- based Obstetrics and Gynaecology clinical learning activities as well as be guided by the Midwifery Educator’s lead, in developing, co-ordinating and implementing all structured learning for Macquarie University Medical students, Registered Midwives and student Midwives, within NSLHD.
The position if full time for 12 months.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Midwife and holds relevant clinical and education postgraduate qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.

Demonstrated evidence of clinical teaching, and have accreditation in advanced skills (Perineal repair, IV Cannulation, Speculum Examinations) or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal and demonstrated computer literacy.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to practice safe midwifery care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.

Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
