Broken Hill Truck Centre Pty Ltd is a family-owned and multi-award-winning dealership servicing the transport industry across Broken Hill, Far West NSW, Northern Victoria, and Eastern South Australia. We are Truck & Trailer Specialists who represent leading brands including Kenworth, DAF, Isuzu Trucks, Freighter, Lusty EMS and Mazi-CUBE.
We require a full-time, qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic/Diesel Technician to join our Service Department. The applicant will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles, including trucks, trailers and any associated equipment.
Salary is $81,000 per annum plus super.
The applicant should have at least a relevant Certificate IV in Auto Technology and 1 year of work experience.
The applicant will be responsible for the following tasks:
· Detect and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults in truck engines and parts using diagnostic tools and systems.
· Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other component, and checking parts.
· Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components according to manufacturer guidelines.
· Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups.
· Reassemble engines and parts after repairing trucks, trailers, and associated equipment
· Test and adjust mechanical parts for proper performance using tools and systems.
· Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate job cards and service documentation.
· Collaborate with Workshop Foreman ad Service Manager to ensure efficient workflow and deadlines are met.
· Assist with mentoring apprentices and providing on-the-job training.
· Report any safety concerns, defects, or workshop issues promptly.
