Job Description
Join the dedicated Rehabilitation team at The Southport Private Hospital as a Maximum Term Part-Time Clinical Nurse, providing high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting the delivery of safe and effective clinical outcomes.
Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and broader multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team while coordinating and delivering care to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to take on a clinical leadership role within a supportive rehabilitation environment and contribute to positive patient outcomes, clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
You are an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical knowledge and a passion for rehabilitation nursing and patient-centred care.
You demonstrate sound clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and the confidence to provide guidance and support to colleagues. You are organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of clinical care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to rehabilitation patients.

Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care.

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team.

Support patients to achieve their individual rehabilitation and recovery goals.

Monitor patients' clinical condition and recognise, respond to and escalate clinical deterioration appropriately.

Provide education and support to patients, families and nursing staff.
-
Promote best practice, patient safety and quality clinical outcomes.
-
Support the implementation and review of clinical policies, procedures and standards.

Assist with clinical problem-solving and provide advice to nursing staff within scope of practice.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Promote infection prevention and control practices.

Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and professional development activities.

Support a positive and collaborative team culture.

Assist the Nurse Unit Manager with clinical and operational requirements as required.
You Will Also Bring
-
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

Previous clinical nursing experience, preferably within a rehabilitation or acute care environment.

Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to support and mentor nursing staff.

Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to coordinate and prioritise patient care effectively.

Strong understanding of patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
