About the Role:
We’re seeking a motivated
Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. In this role, you’ll apply your specialist expertise to develop and deliver a successful organisational H&S service model, with a focus on high-risk environments, risk methodologies, cultural change, and a strong engaging and consultative approach.
This is a diverse role, where no two days will look the same! Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a keen curiosity, with the ability to confidently consult and liaise sensitively and constructively with stakeholders to promote a strong health and safety culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Risk Management: Identify and as sess risks, conduct incident reporting and investigations, and carry out various assurance activities across all health and safety areas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and liaise sensitively and constructively with stakeholders to promote a strong health and safety culture.
- Compliance and Assurance: Apply your knowledge of assurance programs, the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and relevant Regulations and Codes of Practice.
- Professional Advice:Provide expert health and safety advice and assist in resolving health and safety and risk management issues across a diverse portfolio
- Innovation and Collaboration: Contribute to the development of health and safety procedures, tools, and guidelines.
- Training and Education: Develop, lead and facilitate training programs and initiatives across the University to enhance the WHS capability of our workforce and contribute to cultural change.
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
- Experience and Education: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, with a minimum of 7+ years industry experience. Previous experience in occupational hygiene, construction or operations and maintenance desirable.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a variety of audiences.
- Investigative Ability: Strong investigative skills to drive change and growth within the team and the wider university.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered

This Continuous G08 level role attracts a remuneration of $119,125 - $126,950 + 17% superannuation.
