The opportunity:
The National Facilities Manager, provides national leadership, operational accountability and strategic direction for TPG Telecom’s critical facilities portfolio, including Data Centres and MTX facilities across Australia.
The position leads a team of State Facilities Leads and works closely with network operations, engineering, technology, property, procurement, risk, safety, security and external service providers to ensure facilities operations are nationally consistent, commercially disciplined and aligned to telecommunications industry requirements and critical infrastructure expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the national facilities operating model for TPG Telecom’s Data Centre and MTX portfolio, ensuring consistent standards, processes, controls and performance expectations across all states.
- Provide leadership, direction and coaching to State Facilities Leads, ensuring clear accountability for site performance, operational discipline, safety, compliance and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of Data Centre and MTX facilities nationally, ensuring facilities remain safe, secure, compliant, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Ensure effective management of critical facilities infrastructure including power, cooling, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, fire detection and suppression, environmental monitoring, access systems and building management systems.
- Lead national oversight of preventative maintenance programs for Data Centre and MTX facilities, ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved standards, schedules, contracts and safety requirements.
- Review asset health, maintenance findings, inspection results, alarm trends, fault data and site performance information to identify reliability risks and improvement opportunities.
- Lead annual facilities capital planning, budget forecasting and investment prioritisation in partnership with finance, engineering, network operations and state leads.
- Provide national leadership during significant facilities incidents, service-affecting events, major defects, escalations and operational disruptions across Data Centre and MTX facilities.
Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies and best practice in critical facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, energy management, sustainability and asset management.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Relevant qualification in facilities management, engineering, building services, electrical/mechanical services, asset management, property, project management or a related discipline.
- Significant experience leading facilities operations across a national or multi-site portfolio, ideally within telecommunications, data centres, MTX, utilities, critical infrastructure or other mission-critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed teams, including state, regional or site-based facilities leaders.
- Strong understanding of critical facilities infrastructure including power, cooling, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, fire systems, environmental monitoring, BMS, security and site access systems.
Experience managing preventative maintenance programs, asset lifecycle planning, vendor governance, contractor performance, incident management, compliance and operational risk.

Desirable:
- Experience within telecommunications network facilities, MTX environments, data centre operations or other high-availability critical infrastructure environments.
- Facilities management, asset management, reliability, engineering, project management, safety or building services qualifications or certifications.
- Experience with BMS, DCIM, SCADA, alarm management, facilities monitoring or similar operational technology platforms.
Knowledge of ISO 55001, ITIL, critical infrastructure resilience, data centre operating practices, contractor management and maintenance governance frameworks.
