About the Role:
This is a Fixed-Term, part-time position at 40 hours per fortnight for 16 weeks, including one night shift and one day shift within the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department.
The Sleep Medicine Service is embedded within the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service in the Division of Medicine of the hospital. It serves to provide an accurate and detailed assessment of sleep disorders through the provision of polysomnography (sleep studies) to aid in the clinical management of children of all ages in both in in-hospital and hospital in the home setting. The sleep scientist is responsible for facilitating sleep studies within the sleep medicine service. The sleep scientist is expected to make appropriate changes to ventilation or supplemental oxygen as per the established procedures and protocols.
Internally, this position will be known and/or referred to as: Sleep Scientist - Grade 2 Medical Scientist or Sleep Scientist - Grade 2.
Classification for this position is in accordance to Award 18 - Medical Scientists and will range from RY4 (Grade 2, year 1) to RY7 (Grade 2, Year 4), FTE base salary from $94,478.80 to $106,906.80 per annum, pro rata for part-time, plus Superannuation).
Your skills and experience:

Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science or equivalent, where equivalent includes a degree awarded by an overseas tertiary intuitions which is recognised by the national office of overseas skills is mandatory

Significant experience working in a paediatric sleep unit

Significant ventilation experience working with CPAP and non-invasive ventilation
