About the role
As a Lead Line Cook at 6HEAD, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional food and service standards while supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef and Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will take ownership of your section, guide and mentor Line Cooks, and help drive consistency, efficiency, and excellence during every service.
This role is ideal for an experienced cook who is ready to take the next step in their career and contribute to the development of both people and performance within a premium kitchen environment.
38 hours, Casual/Part time positions available
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a senior Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or similar role
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen
- Strong experience in Pans section within a high volume restaurant
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate team members
- Confidence leading a section and maintaining standards during busy service periods
- Excellent organisation, planning, and time management skills
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, stock control, and minimising wastage
- Outstanding food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards
- Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
- Passion for quality produce, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
