An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Student Support Services (SSS) team based in the Horsham office of Wimmera South West.
Occupational Therapist
As an Occupational Therapist in Student Support Services, you will help students participate fully in learning by supporting their functional, sensory, motor and self-regulation needs within educational environments.
This is an opportunity to work proactively with schools to create inclusive learning environments and support students to achieve meaningful educational outcomes.

We work in multi-disciplinary teams across Victoria, partnering with schools to improve student access, participation, engagement and achievement.
About the role
This full-time, ongoing role is based at the Horsham Office, in the Wimmera South West area. Work in Horsham while making a genuine difference across the broader Wimmera region. This varied role will see you travel regularly to rural communities (e.g. Warracknabeal, Rainbow, Stawell, Murtoa and Nhill), building relationships and supporting local schools, students and families.
In this role, you will support children and young people to achieve their educational goals, participate fully in school life and overcome barriers to learning and wellbeing. You will:
- Design and implement individualised programs in collaboration with teachers, parents/carers and relevant professionals, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate and responsive to each student's age, strengths and needs.
- Assess students across areas such as emotional regulation, fine motor skills, self-care and social interaction.
- Document, monitor and accurately report on student participation and progress, evaluating outcomes and making recommendations for future programming.
- Provide advice about specialised access equipment and identify physical barriers within the school environment.
- Liaise with community service organisations, DFFH, hospitals, specialist programs and other professionals to coordinate support and promote positive outcomes for students.

Qualifications
- A graduate or post-graduate qualification in occupational therapy or equivalent.
Accreditation
- Registration as a ocuupational therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A valid Working with Children Check.
- A current Australian Drivers' Licence.
