About the role:
Murrumbidgee Local Health District is looking for a Bereavement Support Social Worker / Psychologist to provide compassionate bereavement support to patients, families and carers throughout their palliative care journey. The position sits within the Specialist Palliative Care team.
In this role you will assist with:
Coordinated bereavement support to patients, family and carers associated with a life limiting illness
Consistent provision of information and psycho-education for bereaved patients, family and carers associated with a life limiting illness
Bereaved family members/carers have awareness of the available support services and resources, including the availability of bereavement counselling through MLHD

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Social Worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a psychologist.
Experience as a counselling clinician in bereavement, palliative care or end of life contexts and specialist knowledge of bereavement, loss and grief processes
Ability to provide education and training to health professionals in the areas of grief, loss and bereavement and clinical supervision.
Current Class C Drivers licence with ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
