James An College (JAC) is a well-established and respected coaching college committed to helping students achieve academic excellence. We provide high-quality supplementary tuition for students from Year 2 to Year 12 in English, Mathematics, Science, and General Ability, as well as specialised programs for Scholarship and Selective School entrance preparation.
We are currently seeking a committed, responsible, and passionate Secondary & VCE English Tutor to join our Pakenham campus. We offer supplementary evening tuition classes for students from Year 2 through to Year 10 in English, Mathematics, Science and General Ability. We also offer special streams for Scholarships and Selective Schools exam preparation.
Working Hours
Applicants should be available to work after school hours on weekdays and/or Saturdays.
Current class times are:
- Wednesdays & Fridays: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Saturdays: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
Our students are motivated to excel academically and are preparing for success in secondary school and VCE. We are looking for tutors who can inspire confidence, develop strong literacy and analytical skills, and guide students towards outstanding academic outcomes.James An College Pakenham is seeking a enthusiastic, committed and passionate Secondary Maths / Science Tutor who is available after school hours on weekdays and/or on Saturdays.
In the role you will be:
- Delivering pre-planned learning content to the students
- Checking and correcting homework
- Teaching concepts that will assist students with their class/home work
- Updating records of student achievements and reporting to admin
- Giving students feedback and advice on how they can improve
- Being the ideal role model to our students
To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and attributes:
- Teaching degree or near completion / tutoring experience
- Must have or be willing to apply for Working with Children Check
- Ability to work independently in the classroom
- Have the ability to manage a classroom of upto 15 students.
- Genuine passion for learning and teaching
- Commitment to attend every class you are rostered to teach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
