We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef to join our dynamic Catering and Events team at Blanco Horner Hospitality Management in Adelaide, SA. As a full-time Senior Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef and overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations for our high-profile catering and events business.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Head Chef in coordinating and supervising kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and timely preparation and delivery of high-quality catered meals and event menus
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development and food costing to optimise the operational and financial performance of the catering business
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as inventory and stock control procedures
- Train, mentor and provide feedback to junior kitchen staff to drive continuous improvement in food quality and service delivery
- Liaise with event organisers, clients and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver exceptional catering experiences
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume catering, events or hospitality environment
- Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations and event catering best practices
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team
- Ability to work collaboratively under pressure and deliver consistently high standards
- Passion for creating innovative, high-quality menu items and providing outstanding customer service
