As part of the globally recognised Accor network, Mantra Wollongong is a well-positioned apartment hotel located in the heart of Wollongong. Our 44-apartment property is just a short walk from Wollongong Hospital, the CBD, train station, and a wide range of cafés and restaurants, making us a popular choice for both corporate and leisure travellers.
At Mantra Wollongong, we pride ourselves on delivering a warm, professional and seamless guest experience. With ongoing improvements to the property and a strong focus on service excellence, we are looking for a Guest Service Agent / Front Office Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, working approximately 10–30 hours per week.
The Role
This role involves all aspects of front office operations, including delivering a seamless and welcoming guest experience, providing friendly and personalised service when responding to accommodation enquiries, promoting the property to maximise occupancy and revenue, managing reservations with accurate data entry, and assisting both corporate and leisure guests throughout their stay.
You will be responsible for:
- Welcoming guests and ensuring smooth check-in and check-out experiences
- Handling phone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Managing reservations and maintaining accurate records in the PMS
- Promoting hotel services and upselling where appropriate
- Assisting guests with local area knowledge and general enquiries
- Processing payments, reconciliations, and daily shift procedures
- Supporting the overall smooth operation of the reception desk
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
- A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in promoting and selling accommodation and services
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with hotel PMS systems (Opera or similar preferred)
- Previous experience in a front office or customer-facing role (hospitality, retail, or tourism) will be highly regarded
The successful applicant must be available to work a rotating roster, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays, and must have full working rights in Australia.
