About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of stone benchtop fabrication and
installation, from interpreting plans, creating templates to final fit and finish. You will work closely
with our directors and templating manager to deliver high-quality results that meet both client
expectations and workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review kitchen plans and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions,
and installation procedures.
2. Accurately obtain site measurements both digitally and manually for benchtops and
splashbacks.
3. Hand-finish marble, granite, and engineered stone surfaces to a high standard.
4. Install finished stonework on-site, ensuring precise fitment.
5. Perform stonework repairs as needed.
6. Verify alignments and ensure correct overhangs.
7. Shape and router cutouts using both CNC machines and manual methods.
8. Perform edging using a belt machine and manual tools.
9. Create 45-degree joins (aproning/mitring) with precision.
10. Cut stone materials using CNC and manual techniques, including irregular shapes as
required.
11. Seal stone slabs to ensure moisture resistance.
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the company directors and the templating manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar stonemasonry role.
2. Proven expertise in working with natural stone (marble and granite) and engineered stone.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD to create templates.
4. Strong ability to read and interpret benchtop layouts and specifications.
5. A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and unsupervised.
6. Willingness to work a 38-hour week, with regular 4–6 hours of overtime as required.
Remuneration
$76,600 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation
