We specialise in Mathematics, Science and English for Years 7–12, and we are looking for talented, driven tutors who genuinely care about student progress.

What We Expect From Our Tutors
Academic ability is important, but it is only part of what makes a great Absolute Academy tutor.
We expect our tutors to care deeply about whether their students are actually improving.
You should be willing to:
- Put in the effort required to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses and learning gaps
- Take ownership of student progress rather than simply completing the scheduled lesson
- Find different ways to explain a concept until the student genuinely understands it
- Challenge students appropriately and maintain high expectations
- Build students' confidence so they begin to see themselves as capable of achieving exceptional results
- Encourage students to move beyond simply "passing" and develop the confidence to aim for top scores
- Identify problems early and actively work to resolve them
- Celebrate improvement while continually pushing students towards their potential

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, structured and results-focused tutoring sessions for students in Years 7–12
- Break down difficult concepts into clear and understandable explanations
- Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs
- Identify and address gaps in student knowledge
- Prepare students thoroughly for SACs, examinations and other key assessments
- Develop stronger study habits, problem-solving skills and academic independence
- Monitor student progress and respond proactively when improvement is not occurring
- Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to students and parents
- Help students establish ambitious but achievable academic goals
- Contribute to worksheets, assessments, lesson resources and other educational content
- Uphold the academic and professional standards of Absolute Academy
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for applicants who are academically strong, reliable, personable and genuinely invested in helping students succeed.
Essential requirements:
- A raw VCE study score of 40+ in the subject(s) you wish to tutor
- An ATAR of 90+
- Completion of VCE or an equivalent Australian secondary qualification
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Strong organisation, reliability and professionalism
- A genuine willingness to go above and beyond to help students improve
- A strong sense of responsibility for student outcomes
- The ability to motivate students and build their academic confidence
Previous tutoring, mentoring or teaching experience is highly regarded, but not essential. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to successful applicants.

Some tutoring may be delivered in person, with opportunities for online work depending on subject demand and availability.
