Kool Beanz Byron Bay is seeking an exceptional Educational Leader / Assistant Director (2IC) to combine pedagogical leadership with operational excellence. This role combines the responsibilities of both Educational Leader and Second in Charge (Assistant Director), offering variety, leadership development and the opportunity to influence every aspect of the centre's success.

About the Role:
Working closely with the Centre Director, you'll play a pivotal role in both the educational and operational success of the service.
You will be responsible for:

Educational Leadership

Leading and mentoring educators to deliver exceptional educational programs.

Embedding the EYLF, NQS and Kool Beanz pedagogy throughout the centre.

Coaching educators through planning cycles, documentation and intentional teaching.

Driving continuous improvement and contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).

Monitoring programming and supporting reflective practice across all rooms.

Building educator capability through mentoring, professional development and coaching.

Leadership & Centre Operations

Supporting the Centre Director with the day-to-day operation of the service.

Acting as the Responsible Person and Centre Director when required.

Assisting with staffing, rosters, compliance and daily centre operations.

Conducting regular room walkthroughs to ensure quality, supervision and safety.

Supporting educator performance, inductions and professional development.

Building positive relationships with families and the local community.

Supporting occupancy, enrolments and centre growth initiatives.
About You:
You will be someone who enjoys leading by example and inspiring others to be their best.
You will bring:
Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Previous experience in an Educational Leader, Assistant Director or Senior Leadership role. Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience

Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, EYLF and Assessment & Rating.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop educators.

Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.

Confidence balancing educational leadership with operational responsibilities.

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates.

Current Working with Children Check/Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
