Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Senior Land Manager to oversee the delivery of vacant land management services across a diverse government property portfolio. Reporting directly to the Operations & Minor Works Manager, you will work collaboratively with client representatives, subcontractors and BGIS teams to deliver high-quality land maintenance services, achieve contract outcomes and maintain strong compliance, safety and environmental standards.
This role combines operational coordination, financial management and stakeholder engagement, ensuring services are delivered efficiently while supporting sustainable land management practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of vacant land maintenance services across an allocated portfolio, ensuring contractual KPIs and service standards are achieved.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, supporting quality service delivery, compliance and positive stakeholder relationships.
- Manage contract financial performance, including budgeting, invoicing, payments, forecasting and debtor management.
- Develop annual maintenance programs, scopes of work and resource plans aligned with contractual obligations.
- Oversee vacant land inspections, land management plans, public enquiries and maintenance scheduling.
- Monitor compliance with environmental management plans, legislation and BGIS policies.
- Prepare reports, participate in client meetings and provide regular updates on contract performance.
- Support a positive team environment through knowledge sharing, mentoring and collaboration.
- Promote health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes through active participation in BGIS HSEQ initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve sustainability practices, operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Experience delivering integrated Property Management, Facilities Management, Project Management or Land Management services.
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance programs, contractors and service providers across diverse portfolios.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and contract administration.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to build trusted working relationships.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, workplace health and safety and environmental management systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Qualifications in Facilities Management or equivalent industry experience.
Desirable:
- Experience working within collaborative or alliance contracting environments.
- Knowledge of legislative maintenance requirements and cost optimisation strategies.
- Experience in environmental management, sustainability, energy management or OH&S.
- Tertiary qualifications in Property, Environmental Management, Engineering, the Built Environment or a related discipline, or a relevant trade qualification.
Workplace Flexibility
This position is based in Melbourne CBD, conveniently located close to public transport.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days based in the office or attending client sites and two days working from home. Regular site visits will form an important part of the role, supporting strong stakeholder relationships and effective land management outcomes.
