Structural Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a capable and detail‑driven structural engineer with strong experience in structural design and analysis, and hands‑on expertise using Autodesk Revit software. This role involves delivering coordinated Revit structural models and engineered design solutions for a range of structural systems, including structural steel, light gauge steel framing, reinforced concrete, and precast concrete structures.
You will be responsible for undertaking detailed structural analysis, developing accurate and constructible 3D Revit models, and supporting effective BIM coordination across multidisciplinary teams. The role requires the ability to translate engineering calculations and design intent into high‑quality models and documentation, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and project requirements. This position offers exposure to technically diverse projects delivered using modern 3D modelling tools, BIM workflows, and industry‑leading structural analysis software, from concept design through to construction.
Responsibilities
Carry out detailed structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete, precast concrete, and steel structures. Develop, manage, and maintain Revit Structural models in line with project BIM requirements and design intent. Perform BIM coordination using Revit models, including clash resolution and collaboration with architectural, civil, and services models. Prepare Tekla Structures models for structural steel modeling, detailing, and fabrication drawings. Use structural analysis and design software including:
SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SpaceGass, AutoCAD, Tekla, IdeaStatiCa or similar softwares
Produce accurate structural drawings, construction documentation, and shop drawings from Revit and Tekla models. Conduct site inspections and provide engineering support during construction. Assess materials and structural systems for compliance and constructability. Identify structural risks and propose practical, cost‑effective solutions. Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Liaise with clients, contractors, fabricators, architects, and consultants.
Pay: $100,000.00 – $108,012.13 per year
