As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) – Room Leader to join our dedicated team at our Shellharbour centre.
About the Role
As an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) – Room Leader, you will provide educational leadership within your room, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, respected, challenged and inspired to reach their full potential.
You will lead by example, supporting a culture of collaboration, reflective practice and continuous improvement while mentoring educators and building meaningful partnerships with children, families and the wider centre community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, implementation and evaluation of high-quality educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Delivering intentional teaching experiences that promote children's learning, development, wellbeing and school readiness.
- Creating rich learning environments that encourage confidence, curiosity, creativity and independent thinking.
- Leading, mentoring and inspiring educators to achieve high standards of professional practice.
- Building strong, respectful and trusting relationships with children, families and team members.
- Monitoring children's learning through observation, documentation and reflective practice.
- Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Regulations and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and fostering a positive, collaborative centre culture focused on excellence.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to educational excellence and believes in the lasting impact of high-quality early childhood education.
You will have:
- A completed Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification).
- Current and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
- Previous experience as a Room Leader or demonstrated experience leading a team within an early childhood setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- The ability to build strong, respectful and trusting relationships with children, families and team members.
- A collaborative leadership style with a genuine passion for mentoring educators and supporting continuous improvement.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional education and care that places every child at the centre of their learning journey.
