Position Overview
The Operations Manager – Aged Care is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of My Remarkable Care's aged care services. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant care in alignment with the Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation, and organisational values.
Working closely with the CEO, clinical leads, and support teams, the Operations Manager will drive service excellence, staff performance, financial sustainability, and continuous improvement across all operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations & Quality
- Oversee daily operations across residential and/or home care services to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
- Monitor compliance with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards, the Aged Care Act 1997, and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Lead audit and accreditation processes, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures that reflect best practice and legislative requirements.
People Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary workforce including care coordinators, support workers, and administrative staff.
- Drive a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with My Remarkable Care's values.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, rostering, performance management, and staff development.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix to meet resident and client needs at all times.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage operational budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify efficiencies without compromising care quality.
- Oversee funding compliance including ACFI/AN-ACC, Home Care Package funding, and government reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate billing, claims, and financial reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, clients, families, community partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Act as a point of escalation for complaints, incidents, and feedback, ensuring timely and empathetic resolution.
- Represent My Remarkable Care in external forums, industry networks, and regulatory engagements.
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to the organisation's strategic planning, growth objectives, and service development.
- Identify opportunities to innovate and improve service models, leveraging technology and evidence-based practices.
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and dashboards for the CEO and Board as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Health Services Management, Nursing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior operational or management role within the aged care sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, aged care legislation, and funding models (AN-ACC, HCP, CHSP).
- Proven experience leading teams, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Australian driver's licence.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in management, health administration, or a related field.
- Experience with aged care software platforms (e.g., Leecare, AutumnCare, AlayaCare).
- Experience in both residential and home care settings.
- Familiarity with the Support at Home program and upcoming aged care reforms.
