Chef – The Butler’s Pantry
The Butler’s Pantry is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team.
We are a busy café and restaurant focused on delivering quality food, consistent presentation and excellent hospitality. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work and contributes positively to the wider team.
About the Role
As a Chef at The Butler’s Pantry, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and cooking dishes during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services
- Maintaining consistent food quality, portioning and presentation
- Completing food preparation and mise en place
- Following recipes and kitchen procedures
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and minimising food waste
- Working collaboratively with chefs, kitchen hands and front-of-house staff
- Maintaining an organised and efficient workstation
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Following workplace health and safety requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Is confident working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Has experience with breakfast and lunch service
- Produces consistent, well-presented food
- Has strong organisational and time-management skills
- Understands food safety and hygiene requirements
- Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
- Is reliable, punctual and professional
- Has a positive attitude and takes pride in their work
- Is available to work a flexible roster, including weekends as required
- Relevant cookery qualifications are desirable; however, applicants with strong practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
