We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join our Structural Steel team. This role involves assisting with the fabrication, handling, and installation of structural steel components in both workshop and site environments. You will support tradespeople and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist boilermakers, welders, and steel fixers with daily tasks
- Load, unload, move, and position steel materials and components
- Perform general site and workshop clean-up and maintenance
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Assist with steel erection and installation on construction sites
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Read and follow instructions from supervisors and site plans
- Support fabrication tasks such as grinding, drilling, and cutting (as directed)
- Ensure materials and equipment are stored correctly and securely
Essential Requirements
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
- Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- White Card (Construction Induction) or ability to obtain one
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in construction, steel fabrication, or similar industry
- Forklift licence (LF) or EWP ticket
- Basic knowledge of structural steel components and tools
- Dogging or rigging tickets (advantage but not essential)
Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour
