As an Activity Assistant, you will make a meaningful impact by supporting older adults to engage in purposeful, stimulating activities that promote cognitive wellbeing, independence, and social connection.
Deliver engaging social and recreational programs that enhance quality of life and promote inclusion, participation, and belonging.
Support a diverse range of clients, including people living with dementia, by adapting your approach to meet individual needs with empathy, patience, and respect.
You’ll make an impact by
- Supporting the delivery of engaging group and individual activities such as games, arts, music, exercise and community outings
- Encouraging participation by building meaningful relationships and understanding individual preferences, abilities and needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging
- Supporting people living with dementia, using a person-centred approach and responding thoughtfully to changing behaviours
- Assisting with light food preparation, refreshments and mealtime support
- Providing general, non-clinical personal care support such as prompting, guiding and assisting where appropriate
- Assisting in the planning, setup and coordination of activities and events to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences
- Monitoring client engagement and providing feedback to improve activity programs and outcomes
- Maintaining activity resources and supporting administrative tasks such as attendance and documentation

What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Leisure & Health, Community Services or similar
- Experience working within Aged Care, memory support, dementia, cognitive impairment.
- National Police Check
- Driver’s licence
- Reliable Vehicle

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and encourage participation
- Creativity and flexibility in delivering engaging, inclusive activities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities
- A proactive, positive approach with energy and a passion for enriching lives
