We are seeking an experienced Senior Hairstylist to join the talented team at Colour & Co Studio in Ballarat, VIC. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to lead by example and mentor junior stylists whilst delivering exceptional hairstyling services to our valued clientele. As a Senior Hairstylist, you will be at the forefront of our salon operations, setting the standard for quality, creativity and client satisfaction. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation as a premier hair and beauty destination in Ballarat.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality hairstyling services including cutting, colouring, styling and treatments to a diverse range of clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction at every appointment
- Mentor and support junior stylists, providing guidance on techniques, best practices and professional development
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative salon environment, fostering teamwork and mutual respect
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques and products, regularly participating in professional development and training
- Maintain salon standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation at all times
- Manage client bookings and time efficiently to maximise productivity
- Assist with salon marketing initiatives and contribute to building our client base
- Support the salon management team in achieving business objectives and targets
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years' professional hairstyling experience, with proven expertise in cutting, colouring and styling techniques
- Current qualifications in hairdressing or equivalent certification recognised in the Australian beauty industry
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in a range of cutting and colouring methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- A natural mentor with the ability to guide and support less experienced stylists
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of current hair trends and techniques
- Professional presentation and grooming standards that reflect the salon's image
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Experience in a busy salon environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hair care products and the ability to recommend treatments to clients
- Full Australian work rights are required to be eligible for this position
