At Churches of Christ, we believe safe and secure housing creates stronger communities. As a Housing Support Worker based at our Kenmore Head Office, you'll support individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their housing. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help clients access safe accommodation, strengthen their independence, and sustain long-term tenancy outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll work directly with individuals and families to provide case management. This involves understanding their circumstances, identifying their strengths, and helping them access the support they need to maintain safe and sustainable housing.
Your role will include:

Supporting people through personalised case management and support plans

Helping clients build the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancy

Assisting with budgeting, advocacy, and connecting clients with community services

Conducting assessments and identifying risks and support needs

Working closely with partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes for clients

Maintaining accurate records and reporting requirements
About you:
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and believes everyone deserves the opportunity to live safely and independently.
You’ll bring:

Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Services or a related field – or equivalent work experience

Experience in housing, homelessness, family support, mental health, domestic and family violence, child and family services, or a similar community services setting..

Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and trust with people from diverse backgrounds

A practical, strengths-based approach to supporting people through complex challenges

A current Driver’s Licence.

Intermediate computer / Microsoft Office skills

National Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

Not for profit salary packaging up to $18,549 which could be used for up to $15,900 (for everyday living expenses like rent, mortgage, school fees and many more) and up to $2,650 for meals and entertainment.
