Procurement Officer
The City of Melville is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support the delivery of compliant, efficient, and effective procurement processes across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys working collaboratively, building stakeholder relationships, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary: Level 4/5 $79,100.18 to $92,331.34 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Procurement team, you will play a key role in facilitating tender and quotation processes from commencement through to contract award. You will provide procurement support across the organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures while delivering high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support tender and quotation processes, including advertising, documentation preparation, evaluation support, and contract award activities.
- Prepare procurement and contract documentation in accordance with legislative requirements and organisational templates.
- Maintain procurement registers, records, and associated documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for advisory committees and Council.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding procurement and tendering activities.
- Support the development, review, and continuous improvement of procurement systems, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in the use of the organisation's financial system for purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Participate in continuous improvement, audit, and cross-functional project teams as required.
- Support procurement compliance activities and, when required, assist with the release of purchase requisitions in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Undertake additional duties within the scope of the position and act in higher duties when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, tendering, and contract administration.
- Experience managing quotation and tender processes, evaluations, and contract preparation.
- Knowledge of financial purchasing management systems.
- Experience training and supporting users of financial software systems.
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Understanding of procurement compliance, probity, and governance requirements.
- Knowledge of contract preparation and negotiation practices.
