Fairvale Public School is located in South West Sydney and is one of four public schools serving the inner area of Fairfield City. The school currently has an enrolment of approximately 470 students, with 87% of students coming from language backgrounds other than English. The school's current Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 172.
Quality programs in the creative arts, sport, and extracurricular activities are key features of the school. Fairvale Public School is committed to improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy, strengthening student and community engagement, and delivering high-impact professional learning to support the successful implementation of the 2024–2027 School Excellence Plan.
The school is organised into stage-based teaching teams and includes an enrichment class and an Intensive English class. Staff comprise a balance of experienced and early career teachers who bring a diverse range of professional knowledge and expertise.
Equity funding is strategically utilised to provide a range of additional supports, including a one-day-per-week playgroup program, K–6 interventionists, and an Aboriginal School Learning and Support Officer who works closely with Aboriginal students and their families. In 2026, Fairvale Public School established an Autism class.
Additional non-teaching staff are employed across the school, including School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), School Administrative Officers (SAOs), and a Business Manager. The executive team consists of one Principal, two Assistant Principals – Curriculum and Instruction (APCIs), and five Assistant Principals, who work collaboratively to lead teaching, learning, and whole-school improvement.
Following a comprehensive review of school data and evidence, three strategic directions have been identified for 2024–2027. Student Growth and Attainment focuses on improving outcomes in reading, writing and mathematics. Empowering Excellence aims to strengthen High Potential and Gifted Education, Aboriginal Education, and leadership capacity through the development of an aspiring leadership team. Every Day Counts prioritises improving student attendance, supporting successful transitions to school, and fostering stronger partnerships with students, families and the wider school community.
