To organise appointments, maintain records and perform other tasks in order to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the practice and provide an exceptional standard of care to patients.
Key responsibilities
- Greet patients, record appointments and patient arrival, check patient identifiers, inform of delays
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously; pass on messages promptly to appropriate person
- Manage daily incoming and outgoing mail, email and faxes; type and file outgoing correspondence
- Update patient details and scan documents to patient computer file
- Advise patients of billing policy; process daily claims, issue invoices and receipts where necessary, process payments; maintain petty cash records
- Send out accounts to Allied services; balance computer banking
- Ensure reception, waiting room, doctors' rooms and treatment rooms are clean and tidy
- Photocopying, scanning, routine cleaning of amenities and stocking tasks
- Order stationery and complete tasks in appropriate forms
- Let nursing staff know of any concerns or emergencies

- Undertake all duties in a diligent manner, with honesty and integrity
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information
- Vigilant attitude to accuracy, prepared to double check as necessary
- Work cooperatively and independently
- Ability to prioritise and organise, with attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Pay: $27.00 – $28.00 per hour
