Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for a Land Inspector to support the delivery of a land and property management contract for a significant government portfolio across Victoria. Reporting to the Senior Land Manager, you'll work closely with both client and BGIS teams to conduct site inspections, prepare inspection reports, and ensure the accurate communication of site-related matters.
This is a varied, site-based role that would suit someone who enjoys being out and about, connecting with a range of people, and working independently. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake routine inspections of land and other property types, ensuring KPIs are consistently met.
- Prepare thoughtful, detailed inspection reports noting encroachments, hazards, maintenance requirements, potential future use, and other relevant matters.
- Share site-related matters with internal and external stakeholders and follow items through to resolution.
- Review and update inspection schedules, ensuring any site changes are agreed with the client.
- Liaise warmly and professionally with tenants, members of the public, and client representatives during inspections.
- Nurture positive client relationships through attentive service and open, regular communication.
- Support compliance with BGIS's HSEQ Management System and participate in safety and wellbeing initiatives.
- Help ensure contract obligations are met in line with relevant laws, BGIS systems, and client expectations.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Experience within property, facilities management, land management, inspections, or a similar site-based environment.
- A genuine customer service focus, with the ability to connect comfortably with a variety of people.
- Thoughtful attention to detail and clear, considered report writing skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own schedule and work happily on your own.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and experience using CMMS platforms.
- Comfortable spending much of your time travelling and supporting multiple sites.
Desirable:
- Victorian Agent's Representative Registration.
- Tertiary or trade qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in collaborative or alliance contracting.
- Understanding of legislative maintenance requirements.
- WHS experience.
- Sound business awareness and financial understanding.
Workplace Flexibility
This position is based across a mix of office and client sites, with approximately 1 day in the office and 4 days visiting client sites across Victoria. The role follows core business hours, and a dedicated vehicle is provided for your travel.
