Front of House Attendant (Full-Time / Part-Time)

Yakitori 38 is a busy and well-established Japanese izakaya in Canberra, serving authentic Japanese food and drinks in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking team members to join our Front of House team. We are seeking both Full-Time and Part-Time staff who enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and take pride in delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and seating customers
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Taking orders and assisting guests with menu enquiries
- Running food and drinks
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the dining area
- Assisting with opening and closing duties
- Supporting both Front of House and Back of House operations when required
- Washing dishes and assisting with general cleaning tasks
- Restocking supplies and maintaining service stations
- Performing general duties as directed by management
What We're Looking For
- Fluent English communication skills are essential
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not essential
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly during busy service periods
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of duties across the venue
- A team-first mindset and willingness to help wherever needed

This role involves constant movement, busy service periods and working on your feet for extended periods. We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy hospitality and are willing to contribute wherever needed.
