Front of House Attendant (Casual / Part-Time)

38 KATSU is a busy, fast-growing Japanese comfort food restaurant located in Canberra Centre. As a newly opened venue, we are looking for energetic, reliable and hardworking team members who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
We are looking for team members who are willing to be involved in all aspects of restaurant operations. While this is primarily a Front of House position, successful applicants must be comfortable assisting wherever required to support the team and ensure smooth service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and seating customers
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Taking orders and assisting guests with menu enquiries
- Running food and drinks
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the dining area
- Assisting with opening and closing duties
- Supporting both Front of House and Back of House operations when required
- Washing dishes and assisting with general cleaning tasks
- Restocking supplies and maintaining service stations
- Performing general duties as directed by management
What We're Looking For
- Fluent English communication skills are essential
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not essential
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly during busy service periods
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of duties across the venue
- A team-first mindset and willingness to help wherever needed

This role involves constant movement, busy service periods and working on your feet for extended periods. We are looking for team members who enjoy fast-paced hospitality and are willing to learn all aspects of restaurant operations.
