About the role
The Spiritual Care Practitioner (casual) will provide clinical Spiritual Care to people attending the Women’s. This position offers support to patients, their families and carers. The role provides assessment, counselling, emotional and spiritual support and ritual in matter of a person’s beliefs, traditions, values and practices to patients, their families, carers, staff and volunteers. You will need to be available to work casual shifts during weekdays.
A regular day will see you:
- Undertake direct clinical practice in spiritual care and bereavement care
- Triage and manage referrals
- Provide information regarding services, support and referral options to staff and patients as required
About you
To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
- Experience offering spiritual care in a health care setting
- Tertiary level studies in Theology, Pastoral Counselling, Social Sciences or equivalent
- The ability to provide loss, grief and bereavement support
- Knowledge of and respect for religious and cultural differences including respecting the dignity of each person in non-judgmental ways and attending to the specific needs of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander and LGBTIQ+ patients, families/significant others, and staff.
