In this role, you'll:
Lead Sydney Metro’s customer and operations forecasting and insights function, bringing together demand forecasting, operational performance, customer insights, analytics, dashboarding and evidence-based reporting to support better decisions across the organisation.
Manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for establishing trusted forecasts, methodologies, assumptions and insights that inform investment, design, operational readiness, service planning and customer outcomes across Sydney Metro.
Balance long-term strategic planning with immediate operational priorities. You will help leaders understand current performance, future passenger demand, emerging trends and the drivers of change, translating complex analysis into clear, decision-ready advice.
Work closely with senior leaders across Sydney Metro, Transport for NSW and operational partners, you will provide independent advice that shapes strategic, operational and investment decisions before they are made.
Your work will influence how Sydney Metro plans for growth, improves performance and continues to deliver a world-class metro experience for customers and communities.
This role is a permanent, full-time role | Home office 680 George St, Sydney, with hybrid working arrangements available.

About you
You are a strategic, evidence-led leader who can bridge the gap between complex analysis and practical decision-making .You understand that insights are most valuable when they influence action, and you have demonstrated success translating technical information into clear and persuasive recommendations for senior stakeholders.
You bring expertise in:
- Leading forecasting, analytics, research or insights functions within a complex organisation.
- Strong demand forecasting, modelling, analytics or customer and operational performance analysis.
- Ability to simplify complexity and communicate highly technical information to diverse audiences, including executive and Board stakeholders.
- Influencing strategic planning, investment, operational or service-related decisions through evidence-based advice.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a track record of building trusted partnerships across multiple business functions.
- Leading and developing high-performing specialist teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, engineering, business, mathematics or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
