- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, in line with approved menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety standards and service policies.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and complete cleaning routines.
- Manage food purchasing, deliveries, and stock control within budget.
- Record and monitor food storage and temperature checks.
- Work collaboratively with the early learning team to support the overall wellbeing of children.
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in food preparation.
- Knowledge of food handling and food safety guidelines.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, especially with children and co-workers.
- Commitment to maintaining health and safety practices.
- You must hold a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tas) and a current (dated within 6 months) National Police Check Certificate.
- Hold a Food Supervisor certificate or be willing to obtain one
- Hourly rate between $34.10 and $34.77 (depending on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation.
- Our rates are above award and will increase by a further 5.1% in July 2026.
- This is a permanent, part-time position (total 22 hours per week).
- The work pattern is Mondays: 8:00am – 1:00pm, and Tuesdays to Fridays 9:00am – 1:00pm.
